For its third birthday, ROAR for Good is donating 250 Athenas to Women Against Abuse
B Corp ROAR for Good officially launched its flagship wearable safety accessory, Athena, this summer after three years of development.
Now, it’s celebrating that milestone by completing another part of its mission: donating the device to likeminded organizations — in this case, 250 Athenas to domestic violence service provider Women Against Abuse.
It’s a good fit for ROAR, considering cofounder Anthony Gold has said that success for the company means eliminating the need for products like the Athena by eliminating sexual assaults.
“Perhaps the most exciting part of the company is our ROARBack program where a portion of proceeds are invested into educational programs that are teaching respect, healthy relationships, and consent to youth — the kinds of programs that have been shown to increase empathy and reduce violence in adulthood,” said cofounder Yasmine Mustafa in a statement. “It’s why we’re excited and proud to be partners of Women Against Abuse.”
