Tangent Energy Solutions Joins Venture Agreement with Cummins

Tangent Energy Solutions, a start-up company based in Kennett Square, PA that specializes in distributed energy management, said today that it would form a joint venture agreement with industrial equipment maker Cummins.

The newly formed joint venture, Tangent Generation Resources, LLC, will market to a new line of natural gas generators called edgeGEN. The natural gas generators will be manufactured by Cummins and equipped with Tangent’s Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) called Tangent AMP.

“Distribution level energy providers and their C&I customers have become more aware and interested in the embedded economic potential that generators represent in the new grid edge economy. At the same time, they do not want to be distracted from core business operations,” said Satish Jayaram, Director, Global Energy Ventures, Cummins Power Systems.
