John Walker, Ph.D.

John Walker is a Venture Capital Analyst for Ben Franklin’s Healthcare Investment Group. He leverages 6+ years of expertise in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, stroke, and medical devices to evaluate and manage investments in early-stage companies in the healthcare sector.  John’s primary motivations are to make the lives of patients better by translating research from the bench to the bedside and to foster prosperity in Philadelphia through economic development.

Before joining the team, John completed his PhD in Neuroscience at the Drexel University College of Medicine. While there, he was a Coulter Fellow and conducted market research to assist in commercializing medical devices. John also holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The Catholic University of America and is a member of the national engineering honor society – Tau Beta Pi.
