Judith Von Seldeneck’s Capital Fund To Award $2M To Local Women-Owned Businesses
A fund focused on investing in women-owned businesses and helmed by Diversified Search Group Founder and Chair Judith von Seldeneck is readying to invest $2 million locally through a forthcoming round of grants.
Applications for the latest round of the JVS Philadelphia Fund for Women are now open and will be accepted through March 6.
To be eligible, companies must be headquartered in southeastern Pennsylvania, be woman-led or owned, and focus on professional services or products. Companies must also have been in operation for at least two years, have at least two full-time staff members and have net profits in their most recent two years of operation.
Established in 2021, the JVS Philadelphia Fund for Women was created to provide needed capital and resources like consulting and networking to startups and early-stage companies helmed by female founders. Thus far it has deployed $925,000 to 15 businesses in partnership with Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Across its three previous grant rounds, the fund has received over 250 applications.
JVS Philadelphia Fund for Women has backed some notable recipients since its inception, including “Shark Tank” alum Philomina Kane’s brand KIN Apparel, Mumbi Dunjwa’s vegan hair care company Naturaz, and human resources technology firm On the Goga, which is founded and led by Anna Greenwald. Additional recipients include activewear brand Addison Bay; landscaping firm Studio Sustena; luxury interior design brand Tailored Home; vegan food manufacturer LUHV Foods; ambient vibration measurement platform SenseV; and Life Managers Associates, which helps individuals age in place.
