7 Philadelphia-Area Companies Make Deloitte’s List of 500 Fastest-Growing Tech Firms

Seven companies from the Philadelphia region landed on Deloitte’s 2020 Technology Fast 500 list, with an Ambler firm leading the way locally.

The Deloitte list ranks the top 500 North American tech and life sciences companies based on revenue growth averaged across 2016 to 2019. Specific revenue figures are not listed.

Phenom People, which has raised about $61 million in venture capital over the past nine years, came in at No. 168 on the list, the highest of any other company in the region. The Ambler human resources technology firm reported a 693% increase in revenue growth during the three-year span.

Ranking high on the Deloitte list isn’t new to Phenom, which landed at No. 150 last year with 1,045% revenue growth.

In addition to growing revenue, Phenom also recently made its first acquisition, buying Silicon Valley HR tech firm My Ally in September. Just this week it announced it’s collaborating with Microsoft to create a new integration into its Teams platform. Through the integration, Phenom is able to get inside one of the main communication “hubs” for many of its customers, CEO Mahe Bayireddi said in a statement, and streamline the interview and evaluation process.

In reaction to its ranking on this year’s Fast 500, Bayireddi said the Philly area has been an ideal place to grow the company.
